Our story begins in the early 1990s, amidst a time of upheaval and uncertainty in Serbia and the Balkans. In the basement of our family home, our parents embarked on a journey that would define not only their lives but also ours. With a team of just eight workers, they poured their energy into designing, cutting, and sewing jeans for the local market. It was the only path available, but it ignited a passion for textiles and machinery that became part of our family’s DNA.
However, the conflicts of the era brought an abrupt halt to production. Undeterred, in 1997, our father Aleksandar took a bold step forward. Pivoting from production to distribution, he founded Global-Trade YU doo, a company dedicated to importing and selling Global industrial sewing machines. Over the next 27 years, his vision and persistence positioned our family business as a leader in automation for textile production. From automatic sewing solutions to CNC cutting systems and advanced finishing technologies, we became a trusted name across the ex-Yugoslavia region.

Inspired by our family’s legacy and driven by a passion for innovation and problem solving, we founded M.S.S. – Marjanović Sewing Systems. This leap was made possible with the support of Raising Starts, a program of support for startups in their earliest stages, provided by Science and technology park Belgrade with support of Swiss government and in partnership with Science and technology parks Niš and Čačak.

Through this program, we were able to design and build the MVP of our first brainchild - M.S.S. Autonomous Overlock Sewing System (AOSS) - a fully automatic solution for producing non-apparel geometrical articles such as reusable diaper liners and nursing pads. Currently, the AOSS is in an extensive testing phase and undergoing significant functional upgrades.
The journey of innovation doesn’t end with an MVP. With the help of the Mini Grants Program, a project financed by the Innovation Fund from the European Union Pre-Accession Assistance and from the budget of the Republic of Serbia, the line of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, we are taking AOSS to the next level. The grant enabled us to integrate advanced modules like machine vision edge detection and AI-powered quality control, setting a new standard for textile automation.

At M.S.S., we believe in using technology to drive sustainable solutions. Automation in the textile industry not only reduces carbon footprints and minimizes waste but also creates opportunities for non-skilled workers while optimizing production costs. This vision of sustainability guides every project we undertake, from the machines we build to the partnerships we foster.
Today, as we continue to refine AOSS and develop new solutions, we remain deeply committed to innovation, collaboration, and sustainability. Our goal is not just to advance the textile industry but to contribute to a future where technology and sustainability go hand in hand.

Join us on this journey as we continue to innovate, inspire, and contribute to a brighter, more sustainable world.
